XMAS SHOULD BE MAX.
Why do you think they bring us weekly updates...

They keep providing us with new content as the game grows older. This summer we are supposed to recieve a whole new area, if you forgot about that.

Frow what i have been reading on the GW page, it seems as though the will be doing a major content update for free by the end of this year. This will come along with the Observer Mode etc.
I'm even guessing that this update with have an entirely new area.

If this is the case (and im not just talking out of my 1337 4$$) then it would make sence that the first expantion is so late.

I agree with you guys....If youre going to go back to the old ascalon, do it in stages so you can see it being rebuilt over time. And of course with time comes technology.....i'd like to see new quest, new armor, new weapons, new creatures evolve, new skills, new character builds, new runes and more diverse uses of them, .....its endless what could actually become of this....

I might even enjoy the fantasy evolving into futuristic sci-fi.....way later down the road, of course. I m still getting my fill of this one.

There will be a free downloadable update this year with two new map zones. This is not the next Chapter, it's just a planned update that they're giving us for free to keep us playing while they finish up Chapter 2. Chapter 2 will be, as has been said, released in the first half of 2006. My guess is it will be at the end of the first quarter, but they haven't said anything for sure other than that it will be in the first half of 2006. For those of you who think you can't wait that long, you people are really, really impatient.

As for what will take place in the next Chapter, I think the idea that it will involve Cantha is quite likely, though there are a few other things that could still happen. What I'm curious about is how levels will work in the next Chapter, and whether or not we will be starting brand new characters.

I'm sick of the burnt down cities too. Instead of rebuilding Ascalon though, maybe Anet could implement a turn-back-the-clock feature. Your character'd go up to Simon the Scribe and ask him to tell you the history of Ascalon. He/she is then transported back in time, to the days of pre-Searing and perhaps even earlier. Your level and skills would need to be adjusted, of course.

I'd like to see the Charr revisted. Of all the threats you face in the course of the game, the Charr are the only "enemy" without any closure. When you bail Ascalon with Rurik, you don't hear from them again. Were they defeated? I don't think so. The last we hear of them, they are in the process of sacking the capital, Rin when your party shows up. So to me, the Charr are obviously still active, and after what we saw them do in the Searing, they are obviously still capable of causing major headaches. So what do ya say ANet, let's get some closure on the Charr. Or maybe... even let us play one!

Wait a minute! You meant to say that if I play for 8-10 hours a day I'll complete all there is to do in a month???

Although this game is a lot of fun, it can still wear out if it is overplayed. It's that simple. There's only a few games that I played that haven't I burned out on. Those are considered classics. GW was is new. Because of the gerne it is placed in, it will be a while before they can 'pump out' expansions.
From my narrow view of things, GW is still establishing a fanbase.

I've actually gotten better at the game and have had more fun when I cut down on the playing time. If your sick of the game, just wait for the expasion to come out and quickly skim over this site as well as others to see if its worth playing again.

There are lots of possiblities and different ways A.net can go about with on the expanstion and even if its half as cool as the first I'll still play it and probably enjoy it.

The developers have stated about how the expansion content will start with ascend characters so sounds like the plot hook in / tie in there. Also leaving everything before untouched.

just consider it the best single player RPG with the added benefit of being able to play it with other people.

when you get tired of it go on to something else and return when you feel like it.

it is not as if you had to play because you were paying be the month
